In 2007, as more and more women from Moldova leave to work abroad, three schoolteachers from a Moldovan village decide to follow in their footsteps and make their way to Italy through less-than-legal means, hoping for a better life. For a substantial sum of money, an experienced driver who has already helped other Moldovan women leave the country promises to take them all the way to Rome.
Far from home and their loved ones, with their freedom of movement restricted and forced to share a cramped space, the three women rely on one another and face unexpected situations with humor, optimism, and ingenuity.
Based on a true story.
