Vecina (The Neighbor) is co-directed by Cristian Ilișuan and Eugene Buica, two filmmakers who blend the vibrant spirit of modern Romanian comedy with the refinement of international cinema. Cristian Ilișuan, known for the Mircea Bravo project and the box-office hits Mirciulică, Nuntă pe bani, and Moartea în vacanță, has directed and produced hundreds of short films and online videos that have reached millions of viewers. His background in visual storytelling and his sharp comedic sense bring authenticity and freshness to every project.
Eugene Buica, an actor and director born in Bucharest and educated in the United States, is the founder of the renowned Los Angeles acting academy The Acting Crops and currently teaches film acting at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj. With experience on Broadway and in numerous American films and TV shows, he brings an international perspective and refined attention to performance. Together, they craft a witty, heartfelt comedy about urban life, neighborly tensions, and the fine line between patience and madness.
